Latest Website - Catherine Gowthorpe, Artist

“One of my main reasons for making the new website was to have something professional-looking to show to galleries. So I did – I contacted the Number 4 gallery at St Abbs and sent them the link to the website. They got back to me and said they’d like to see the work in person, so I took four framed pieces along to show them last Friday. They seemed to really like them, but said they would need 8 (!) pieces to put into their winter show which runs from November to January. So, bingo! It worked! I’m counting this as a win for the website.

Chalkhill Rewilding

Helen is a rewilding consultant. She gives advice to people on how best to encourage native wildlife into their gardens and make a significant contribution to reversing the effects of climate change.

“Katie has just created a new website for me that I am absolutely delighted with. She understood what I needed and guided me through the whole process. I was a complete novice before we started, Katie was very patient in explaining how a website works and what was needed. Katie has created a website that is stylish, easy to use and looks great.

She took the photographs that we used on the site and created my logo, which I love. Very importantly for me Katie coached me through how to edit and work the website myself so that I can update it as I need to. I heartly recommend Katie for any website design work.”

Dr Remy Marckus, Clinical Psychologist - Website and leaflets

Remy Marckus supports elderly people and their carers to help them manage the physical and emotional challenges of old age

Her website needed to be welcoming, clear, easy to use for those not in the first flush of use and in physical or emotional distress. The nature photography calms but the colours are lively and warm.

Remy wanted to launch her private practice using leaflets to get the word out to those who need her service.

“People have overwhelmingly said how professional it looks and how much they like the photographs. Many thanks for making the start of my business a really enjoyable journey.”

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value

“I have just finished creating a website with Katie Vandyck, for my services as a fiction editor and manuscript reader. This is something I've known I should do for ages, and so when the pandemic enforced staying at home, I steeled myself for a tedious though necessary process. Well, working with Katie, tedious couldn't have been further from truth.

What Katie excels at is really listening to what the client wants - at every step of making this website she was open to my ideas and excited about them, making really useful suggestions as well as explaining very patiently to me the murky world of Search Engine Optimisers and the best ways to get my website seen. I am proud of what we created and feel it is a little bit different from the usual site offering similar services. I'm going to miss Katie and my daily creative chats and sharing of task lists.

For anyone dreading creating a website, or anyone looking for a stimulating and supportive partnership, I would HIGHLY recommend Katie Vandyck Beautiful Websites.”

Georgie Vestey, Podcaster, Dead Honest

“I had a great product and I needed a website.

Almost everyone else with a similar product had gone for a generic look, one that favoured the amused glibness of social media. It felt like a fast joke that would fade fast. It was as unrecognisable to me as I was to it.

“By chance, I find Katie. It becomes quickly apparent that she’s an unusual hybrid; she combines an analogue sensibility with digital expertise. Quietly listening to my poorly formed brief - I knew far better what I didn’t want than what I did - Katie starts to craft a sense of what I am after. I use the word ‘craft’ deliberately, as a talented photographer, her insights are grounded in creativity. A few deeply intuitive observations later and I feel myself relax. I am being seen for who I am not pushed into a some digital construct.

Trust is such a crucial element to any business relationship but especially one where you are so out of sync with the prevailing medium. I trust Katie and am rewarded with a website that reflects my values.  Having set me on my way, she generously offers recommendations of others who can help me across the digital ocean. I feel confident I can keep my head above water.”

Kelly Dillon, The Stitching Post, Online Fabric Retailer

“When I decided that I would like a e-commerce site I had no idea of the work involved. However, from looking at Katie's stunning work, I knew that she was the right person to go to. From the beginning Katie took me (a complete techno-phobe) by the hand and step by step worked with me to create a wonderful website.

Katie's attention to detail and extensive knowledge resulted in exactly what I wanted; a fantastic site but something that over time I can update and run myself.”

Liz Webb, Liz Webb Management

“I have worked with Katie Vandyck on three websites - Ed Hughes, Liz Webb Management and New Music Players - over the last six months and it’s been a pleasure.

The starting point for each site was Katie’s fantastic photos which captured the spirit of the composers and musicians featured on the sites. Katie then devised clear, logical menus and site navigation and sent me a framework for my copy.

She made me really think about the focus of my business and how to communicate that effectively. She also gave me lots of useful advice on SEOs and how to keep users' interest.

I’m really delighted with the look and content of all three sites and have had lots of very positive feedback.”

Bridge Farm Commercial Lettings, Barcombe (Website, photography and logo))

“I contacted Katie following a recommendation through a local business group.

We wanted a website for our commercial lettings business that would engage the visitor straight away. Katie's photography does just that. It was an added bonus that she could build the website for us as well.

I enjoyed working with Katie throughout the process, communication was easy from the start, and it's nice to know the support is always there.

From day one Katie took our vision on board and helped us turn it into a reality, sharing our enthusiasm along the way and adding her own artistic flair and experience.

The result has been a website that we could not be happier with. We now have an online presence to be proud of.”

Claire Tindall, Acupuncturist

"Katie Vandyck took my sketchy ideas and ran with them to create a sophisticated yet simple website beyond my imagination.

Her style and eye for detail was evident in the construction of the website and during our photo shoot. Artistic, long and macro shots conveyed the’ essence’ of my practice, while a palette of pale green jade gave the website cohesion. Branded leaflets and business cards complemented the graphics of the website. Beautiful.

Katie is calm, intelligent, artistically talented and experienced in her profession. I wholeheartedly recommend that you take the opportunity to work with her and watch your business come to life."

Alice Mara, Ceramic Artist

"It was a great experience to work with Katie on my website - she had an intuitive understanding of the nature of my work and the way that I work. Together we created a simple, high quality and informative website.

Katie generously shared her skills and knowledge with me so that I could continue to update and utilise my own website, myself.

The photography that Katie produced for my website really captured the different aspects of the work that I create. The ceramic house outside the real house was a genius idea of Katie's that really made for some authentic visuals."

Through her curious questioning we co-constructed something that was user-friendly and accessible. It is professional without jargon so has a real sense of integrity. I wasn’t really expecting the level of interest and connection that Katie offered.

Lucie Muir Luxury Fashion Journalist

"As a freelance journalist, I'm not used to being on the other end of probing questions, but Katie’s initial pre-website questionnaire was instrumental in shaping my thoughts and defining my brand as succinctly as possible. It is an invaluable tool and a great starting point for things to come.

I wanted a no-fuss, easy-to-use, luxurious-looking site and Katie delivered just that. She also created my business card, which I am now proud to hand out at any given opportunity. The shoot for my portrait was fun and I felt instantly at ease, which is further testament to Katie’s easy-going nature.

Thanks again for all your hard work, sharp eye and general fabulousness throughout the entire creative journey. I really love the site. It is just perfect!"

"Katie did a great job on our website.

She was very patient, really listened to what we wanted and came up with an excellent design. She was brilliant at getting back to us really quickly if we asked questions or wanted changes. Nothing was too much trouble.  She also took all of the photos, which was fantastic, getting natural, outdoor and indoor photographs of us working.

She had a good understanding of our business and was able to take the photographs with the look and feel of the website in mind. We’re really happy with the result."
