You’re an artist and you need a website

A website should be a subtle, restrained frame for the work

The work will be the main feature, the text should be just enough to give a feel for what you do, to explain yourself and help you find the people who will love your work. And then contact you.

When someone told me about Katie, a web designer who loves working with small-scale businesses and artists, I felt a huge relief and couldn’t wait to get started! I had searched for the ‘right’ person for a long time, had been very resistant to building a website on my own, and felt very insecure about the whole shebang.

Katie was exceptionally generous and attuned to my needs. She really connected with me and listened to me, working very respectfully when I was unsure, when I was delayed, and when I was vacillating. I felt she saw who I was, and perceived what I needed. We worked together so that the website really reflected my personality and showcased my art in a way I felt truly happy with. She also really encouraged me as an artist and also took the time to teach me the basics so that I could add things and take ownership of my website. Katie Vandyck made me a beautiful, functional website, which I am thrilled with – and which has brought me opportunities. I can now hold my head high and hand out my business card, confident of website behind it.
